Day 1 Arrive in Osaka
Your exploring tour starts from Osaka, the second largest city in Japan, the ideal place for tasting gastronomy and shopping. Upon arrival, our local representative will greet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day, you are free to explore by your own.
Day 2 Osaka
After breakfast, your private guide will lead you on an extraordinary journey through Osaka’s iconic districts, embarking on a tour that spans from the majestic Osaka Castle to the vibrant neon-lit streets of Dotonbori.
Ascend the historic Osaka Castle, a towering testament to Osaka’s rich heritage and unwavering spirit. Admire the intricate fortifications that encircle this formidable fortress, soak in panoramic vistas of the city below, and immerse yourself in the captivating tales of the samurai warriors who once called it home. Then engage in a hands-on ukiyo-e printing workshop, where you’ll discover the ancient art of creating these iconic woodblock prints. Step into the eclectic world of Shinsekai, a retro-futuristic district that blends the charm of Paris with the energy of New York. Ascend the towering Tsutenkaku Tower for a breathtaking panorama of Osaka, indulge in the local culinary delights, and experience the harmonious blend of nostalgia and modernity that defines this fascinating area. As the sun sets over Osaka, embark on a culinary adventure through the city’s vibrant food scene. Indulge in the savory delights of takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and other local specialties, while immersing yourself in the lively atmosphere of countless restaurants and food stalls.
Day 3 Osaka – Hiroshima
Today, continue your tour to visit the Osaka Museum of Housing and Living, a museum dedicated to showcasing the past lifestyles of Osaka citizens. Through intricate architectural and street models, it recreates the neighborhoods and living conditions of Osaka from the Edo period to the Showa era, enabling visitors to immerse themselves in the way of life across different historical eras. The museum boasts the only preserved model of Osaka city from the Edo period in Japan, making it a treasure trove of historical and cultural significance. Then have a leisurely walking around Kuromon Ichiba Market and have a glance at the local life of today and try some local authentic food (expense on your own).
This afternoon, be transferred to the railway station for the train to Hiroshima which is defined with peace. Upon arrival, be picked up and transferred to your hotel. Easy and free for the rest of day.
Day 4 Hiroshima
Nestled as the abode of the three goddesses of the seas and storms, Itsukushima Shrine has stood as a sacred Shinto shrine since the 6th century. Today, its majestic red torii gate stands tall, etched into the hearts of Japan as one of its most iconic symbols. As the tide rushes in, the breathtaking sight of this vibrant red torii gracefully floating amidst the vast expanse of water unfolds before your eyes, backed by the ethereal palaces and lush mountain peaks shrouded in the forest’s embrace. Little wonder ancient souls believed they were traversing towards a realm of immortals.
Later in the afternoon, embark on a ferry journey back to Hiroshima, where a poignant pilgrimage awaits. Visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, where the museum within holds the echoes of the past, and the Atomic Bomb Dome stands as a solitary sentinel—the lone survivor near the hypocenter of devastation. Confronting the horrors wrought by war may seem unforgiving, yet it serves as a poignant reminder that compels us to cherish the peace we have fought so hard to attain.
Day 5 Hiroshima – Kyoto
Kyoto, the heart of Western Honshu, served as the capital of Japan for over a thousand years until Tokyo assumed the role in 1868. A millennium of history has made Kyoto an enchanting city filled with historical relics and Japanese traditions.
Upon arrival in Kyoto, you are free to arrange the rest of your day at your leisure. Why not take a stroll through the historic entertainment district of Gion, where you might stumble upon Geisha in exquisite kimonos, who embody the essence of old Kyoto?
For a more immersive experience, we can arrange a spectacular Geisha performance tailored to your request, complemented by a traditional tea ceremony.
Day 6 Kyoto
After breakfast, embark on a captivating journey that begins at the resplendent Kinkaku-ji Temple, where a shimmering golden roof glimmers in the sun, mirroring perfectly in the still waters of the adjacent pond, leaving a profound impression on all who behold it. Next, step deep into Japan’s storied past with a visit to Nijo Castle, a testament to the might and grandeur of the Edo Period’s first shogun. Walk upon its unique “nightingale” floors, where every step echoes with a melodious squeak reminiscent of birdsong, adding an enchanting layer to the castle’s rich history.
Continue your exploration with a pilgrimage to Fushimi-Inari Shrine, where a vermilion tunnel of thousands of torii gates winds its way up Mount Inari, inviting you to immerse yourself in a serene atmosphere of sanctity and tranquility.
As your tour draws to a close, wander through the enchanting streets of Gion, Kyoto’s traditional entertainment district. Here, you may have the chance to encounter the graceful beauty of geishas, adding a touch of mystery and elegance to your journey through Japan’s cultural heartland.
Day 7 Kyoto – Tokyo
Say goodbye to Kyoto this morning and head for the modern capital Tokyo by the speed railway Shinkansen, which was the first high speed train in the world and envy of the world in traffic history.
Upon arrival, be picked up and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day, free on your own. You may interested in the huge department store in Ginza or check out the restaurants and pubs in Shinjuku.
Day 8 Tokyo
As the capital of Japan, Tokyo has numerous places worth exploring. Besides futuristic skyscrapers and bustling trendy shopping districts, the city still preserves ancient shrines, palaces, and temples well, which are all witnesses to the development and splendor of this ancient city. This journey begins at Meiji Shrine, built to commemorate the first modern emperor of Japan. Stepping into this precinct, you will temporarily escape the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in a serene atmosphere created by traditional Japanese buildings and beautiful forests. Then, head to the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, a delightful park filled with blooming flowers, ancient walls, and the elegant Suwano tea house, where you can admire the exterior view of the Imperial Palace. Afterward, visit the 1,400-year-old Senso-ji Temple, the oldest temple in Tokyo Metropolis and also the center of Asakusa District. Surrounded by many small shops featuring Japanese characteristics, this temple is one of the few scenic spots with traditional Japanese style in this modern city of Tokyo.
Day 9 Tokyo
Today, start your tour to explore the highlights out of Tokyo city. After breakfast, embark on a scenic two-hour drive to the picturesque Fuji Five Lakes region. Here, indulge in either a serene cruise across the mirror-like waters of Lake Kawaguchiko or ascend the Kachi Kachi Ropeway, also known as the Mount Fuji Panoramic Ropeway, for breathtaking views and photo opportunities of Mount Fuji—Japan’s iconic snow-capped volcano, its highest peak, and a deeply revered symbol in Japanese culture. With favorable conditions, you might even be blessed with the rare sight of “upside-down Fuji,” where the mountain’s reflection graces the still lake’s surface. After the tour, drive back to your hotel in Tokyo.
Day 10 Departure from Tokyo
Today, it will be the end of your Japan journey. Bid farewell to Japan, carrying with you the unforgettable memories of your unique exploration of the Land of the Rising Sun.
