1.City Hotels
These are mainly concentrated in Mongolia’s capital, Ulaanbaatar, as well as a few major cities. Options include international hotel chains and unique local guesthouses.
Hotels and guesthouses generally offer good living conditions and well-equipped facilities, making them ideal for travelers with higher expectations for lodging quality.
2.Mongolian Yurts
During summer, yurt stays are available in the grassland pastoral areas, offering a unique opportunity to experience life on the vast Mongolian steppe.
However, standard yurt accommodations usually consist of a shared sleeping area and require guests to use communal bathrooms for washing. Facilities are relatively basic, and the environment is more rustic. It’s important to stay warm at night and take precautions against mosquito and insect bites.
There is also a unique type of yurt accommodation known as a Mongolian yurt hotel, which offers an interior environment similar to that of a standard hotel. It is well-equipped with modern facilities, while still retaining some traditional yurt features.
3.Wooden Cabins
Wooden cabins are another accommodation option on the grasslands. They are typically suite-style units with two bedrooms—one inside and one outside the main area—and feature large floor-to-ceiling windows, allowing guests to enjoy stunning views of the grasslands from indoors.
