Mongolia offers visa exemption or temporary visa-free policies to citizens of certain countries. Before your trip, you should check with the Mongolian embassy or consulate to confirm whether your country is currently eligible for visa-free entry.
If your country is not covered under the visa exemption policy, you will need to apply for the appropriate visa in order to enter Mongolia.
1.Types of Visas
Tourist Visa (K2): For tourism purposes, with a maximum stay of 30 days.
Cultural, Sports, and Media Visa (K4): For participating in cultural events, sports competitions, or film production, with a maximum stay of 30 days.
Business Visa (B): For business activities, usually valid for 30 or 90 days.
Transit Visa (K6): For travelers transiting through Mongolia en route to another country, with a maximum stay of 10 days.
2.Visa Application Process
Mongolia has launched an electronic visa (e-visa) system, allowing applicants to complete the entire process online. You can visit the official Mongolian e-visa website, submit the required documents, pay the visa fee, and wait for a confirmation email. You can use the application ID provided in the confirmation to check your application status on the website.
To apply, you need to provide a scanned copy of the passport’s information page, a 2-inch white-background digital photo, as well as supporting documents such as your itinerary or hotel reservation.
