For travelers who desire for nature and hiking, we have meticulously designed this 6-day Nepal Beginner’s Hiking Itinerary, The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. Your journey begins upon arriving in Kathmandu, where you will meet your private English-speaking guide and head together towards Pokhara. Renowned as the “Little Switzerland of the East,” Pokhara captivates travelers from all corners of the world with its unique natural scenery and rich cultural heritage. The Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is especially celebrated by hiking enthusiasts as one of the “World’s Top Ten Trekking Routes.”
To save you time reaching the hiking beginning point, we includes a round-trip flights in the tour itinerary. You will embark on an adventure to explore Annapurna, the world’s tenth highest peak, standing at an elevation of 3,210 meters, and revel in panoramic views of Mount Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri range in the Himalayas. Along the way, you’ll traverse several picturesque local settlements and lush green forest trails, with the magnificent Himalayan landscape sure to take your breath away. Witnessing the sunrise over the Himalayas from the summit of Poon Hill is an incredibly awe-inspiring experience.

Day 1 Kathmandu – Arrival
Welcome to Nepal, a paradise for trekkers and a sacred destination for spiritual pilgrimage. Upon your arrival, our local English-speaking guide will greet you at the airport, marking the beginning of your exploration in Nepal. The rest of the day, free on your own to explore.

Tourists are allowed to carry no more than 50 grams of gold jewelry and no more than $5,000 USD in cash when entering Nepal.
-Mount Everest Viewing
If you wish to catch a glimpse of Mount Everest during your flight, please inform the airport staff during check-in and request a window seat on the right side of the plane for the best view.
Recommended places to go
–Swayambhunath Temple
It is the oldest Buddhist temple in Nepal, with a history spanning over 2,500 years. It has been inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Known also as the “Monkey Temple” due to the abundance of monkeys here, reaching the highest point offers a panoramic view of Kathmandu, making it an excellent spot for photography.
Travel Tips: From Thamel Street, it takes at least an hour to walk to Swayambhunath Temple or about 20 minutes by taxi. Be mindful of dust on the way. It is recommended to visit during the evening to enjoy the sunset scenery. While visiting the temple, please maintain silence and respect, and avoid disturbing the monks and believers.
-Durbar Square
As a landmark attraction in Kathmandu, Durbar Square boasts exquisite architectural ensembles and wood-and-stone carvings. It is the largest and most bustling palace square in Nepal. Here, you can witness a scene of pigeons flying around and a cluster of typical Nepalese temples.
Day 2 Travel from Kathmandu to Porhara (By plane)
After breakfast, your guide will accompany with you and head to Kathmandu’s domestic airport for your flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to the hotel in Pokhara’s Lakeside area to check in.

After checking in, you are free to explore the area for the rest of the day. You can take a boat ride on Phewa Lake, visit nearby famous attractions such as the World Peace Stupa on your own.
Day 3 Trekking from Ulleri to Ghorepani
After breakfast, your guide and porter will meet with you in the hotel lobby. From there, you will take a vehicle together to Ulleri, the starting point of the trek (in case of severe weather conditions such as heavy rainstorms in the days leading up to the trek, which may deteriorate road conditions in the mountains and make it impossible for vehicles to reach Ulleri, the trek starting point may be temporarily changed to Hile).
Today, you will do a trekking approximately 5-6 hours in total. As the altitude increases, there will be more and more steps, and you may feel somewhat exhausted. Adjust your breathing, follow the pace of the guide and porter, and persevere. You will surely arrive at the guesthouse before dinner. If you arrive at the guesthouse early and still have the energy, you can climb up to the top of Poon Hill to enjoy the sunset.

Accommodation:
Accommodation will be provided at a guesthouse in Ghorepani. On clear days, a magnificent view of snow-capped mountains can be seen from the windows of the guesthouse. By default, accommodation is in twin-sharing rooms, with each person having a single bed. Showers are available at the guesthouse, but hot water may not be available at all times due to weather conditions. Drinking hot water, WiFi, and power banks within the guesthouse may be subject to additional charges and are not included in the tour fee.
Day 4 Trekking from Ghorepani to Tadapani
Early in the morning, before dawn breaks, follow the guide on a trek to the summit of Poon Hill to witness the sunrise and admire the breathtaking view of the Annapurna mountain range (
Activity duration Approximately 2 hours. Subject to the weather, if it rains, the activities will be canceled.). After enjoying the sunrise, return to the guesthouse via the same route for breakfast. It’s relatively cold at the summit in the morning, so please dress warmly.
On this day, we traverse moss-covered stone steps, encounter small waterfalls cascading down the mountain streams, and cross bubbling brooks. It’s a particularly scenic day along the trail. Except for reaching an altitude of 3,210 meters at sunrise, the rest of the trek involves descending in altitude. Due to the numerous downhill sections, you may find it significantly easier compared to the first day. However, if it rains, please be vigilant about the terrain as downhill paths can be slippery and prone to falls.

Day 5 Trekking from Tadapani to Sauli bazar
Today, you will hike from Tadapani, passing through Ghandruk, and after approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, arrive at Sauli Bazar, where our vehicle will be waiting to pick you up and take you back to Pokhara. If you find yourself unable to continue walking, please inform your travel expert one night in advance, and by paying an additional fee, we can arrange for the pick-up location to be moved up to Ghandruk, saving you over 2 hours of hiking.

Highest Altitude on the Route: 2,670 meters
Refueling Points on the Way: There are shops and other places where you can purchase food and supplies during the hike.
Transportation Options: If you feel exhausted during the hike, local services such as horse riding or cart rides are available at your own expense. Please note that during peak times, there may be waiting times.
After returning to Pokhara, you will have free time for the rest of the day. You can explore the scenic views of Fewa Lake in the Lakeside District, visit cafes, or relax at a massage parlor.
Day 6 Travel from Pokhara to Kathmandu (By plane)
Today, say goodbye to Pokhara and take the morning flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to check-in at your hotel. This afternoon, free on your own to explore.
Recommended half-day tour in Kathmandu
-Visit the Grand Boudhanath Stupa (a World Heritage Site) (around 1 hour), one of the largest stupas in South Asia and a sacred site for Tibetan Buddhism, commonly known as “Little Tibet”. Perched atop a grand white dome, stands a square stupa, with each of its four sides adorned with a colossal, worldly-wise Buddha’s eye.
-Visit Thamel (commonly known as the “Foreigners’ Street”) (around 2hours), often referred to as the “Little Hong Kong.” This bustling area is a hub for international tourists, with narrow streets filled with people from all over the world. The vibrant atmosphere is complemented by countless shops, making it a must-visit destination in Nepal. A lunch stop will be arranged at an appropriate time during the journey.
Day 7 Departure from Kathmandu
Today is the ending day of your exploration tour. You are free until be transferred to the airport for your departure flight, end your memorable tour in Nepal.
