Shopping in the Philippines

When traveling through the Philippines, it’s easy to fall in love with the country’s vibrant culture, tropical beauty, and heartfelt hospitality—and what better way to bring those memories home than with meaningful souvenirs? From delicious treats grown under the warm island sun to handcrafted treasures that reflect rich local traditions, the Philippines offers a wide range of unique gifts for every traveler. Below are some of the most popular and representative items worth bringing back from your journey.

1.Coffee

The Philippines has a coffee-growing history that dates back to the 18th century and is renowned for its uniquely rich flavors.

With its warm, humid climate and fertile soil, the country is an ideal place for cultivating high-quality coffee beans. From lowlands to highlands, the Philippines is one of the few regions in the world capable of producing all four major commercial coffee varieties: Arabica, Liberica, Excelsa, and Robusta.

Take home a pack of Filipino coffee and bring with you the distinctive aroma of this remarkable land.

2.Dried Fruits

The Philippines is rich in tropical fruits, making fruit-based products especially popular. Banana chips, dried mangoes, and dried durian are among the favorites—each made from real fruit, bursting with natural sweetness and vibrant tropical aroma.

Every piece of dried fruit carries the sunny, passionate spirit of the Philippine islands. They make excellent snacks and are perfect souvenirs to share with family and friends back home.

3.Pearls

Surrounded by vast oceans, the Philippines is blessed with abundant marine resources and is one of the world’s leading producers of pearls.

Among the many varieties found here, the Golden South Sea Pearl is the most distinctive. Filipino golden pearls are known for their naturally rich color and exceptional quality, with the highest-grade pearls displaying a deep tea-gold hue with hints of green and iridescence—making them highly prized by collectors.

Thanks to the country’s large pearl production, the pearl-processing industry is also well developed. Visitors can find an array of exquisite jewelry, including pearl necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings—perfect for gifting or collecting.

4.Coconut Oil

The Philippines’ tropical climate makes it an ideal place for coconut trees to thrive, providing excellent raw materials for coconut oil production. As a result, the country has become one of the world’s largest producers of high-quality coconut oil.

Coconut oil is renowned for its many health benefits, including supporting cardiovascular health and boosting cognitive function. It can be used for skincare, haircare, or cooking, making it both versatile and practical.

With its rich Southeast Asian aroma and strong sense of place, coconut oil is a meaningful and useful souvenir—perfect to take home for yourself or as a gift.

5.Toy Jeepneys

One of the most iconic symbols of Filipino culture is the jeepney—the vibrant, colorfully painted vehicle that fills the streets with its lively designs and decorative flair.

So, when you visit the Philippines, how could you leave without bringing home a mini jeepney of your own?

Toy jeepneys are widely available in souvenir shops across the country. They are beautifully crafted, come in a variety of designs, and perfectly capture the look and spirit of the real thing. These charming models make wonderful, representative gifts for family and friends.

6.Filipino Chocolate

Blessed with an ideal tropical climate, the Philippines is an excellent place for cacao cultivation. With a long history of growing cacao, the country has developed chocolate products infused with distinctive local flavors that have gained recognition far and wide.

Bringing home locally made Filipino chocolate is a wonderful way to share the rich, heartfelt sweetness of the Philippines with your family and friends.

7.Wood Carvings

Filipino woodcarving is an art form that blends indigenous craftsmanship with influences from various cultures, resulting in a distinctive and expressive artistic style.

Among the many wooden creations, the most unique is the wooden bicycle—a fully functional, rideable piece of art that has even been used in local cycling races.

For souvenirs, you can choose from practical wooden items such as spoons, bowls, lampshades, or boxes. You can also opt for charming and easy-to-carry decorative pieces like miniature coconut trees, small figurines, toy sculptures, barrel men, or pen holders—perfect for sharing a touch of Filipino artistry with friends and family.

We traveled to China during 05th May to 17th May, 2026. Here goes our comment.

Guilin & Yangshuo:

Mr. Tom was an excellent guide in every aspect. He made every experience a great adventure and beyond. With his energy and knowledge, he adjusted the schedule with extra activities such as visiting the pandas, which made it extra special. He is good at explaining everything in a clear and succinct way, since much is guiding us, we loved our time in China and couldn’t have done it without Tom. He is also frequently offering helpful knowledge we very much appreciated. He also took great pictures of us. Mr. Kong, the driver is very courteous & flexible.

Zhangjiajie, Furong & Fenghuang town:

Allen is a capable and smart guide who has an optimistic and patient personality. We feel fortunate to have her. She is very good at arranging the schedule and navigating the towns’ sights in an efficient manner. We appreciate her help to negotiate with the photographer and provide us good seats and advice. The driver Mr. Lee is a safe & excellent driver who is courteous to us, other drivers and pedestrians. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Zhengzhou area. The hotel was excellent!

Beijing:

Ray Liu is a very knowledgeable and smart guide with excellent English. We learned a lot from him about Chinese history, culture, and current life. He is on time and capable. He shared with us a lot of interesting facts and information, and it was easy to talk to him because he is friendly, talkative and has fluent English. Ray knows his way around & got us everywhere, and it was nice there was a charge port in the back. He can be more courteous to bikers & pedestrians, but we got everywhere safely.

Classic Japan Tour, Tokyo, Mt.Fuji, Osaka, Kyoto

Aug 2025

Best Asia Tours did a really good job planning our itinerary in Japan. Some times we had issues coming up I think mostly related to cultural differences, but our agent was amazing and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were comfortable and the trip was perfect. The hotels are centrally located, very easy to access to the city center. The guide and driver are friendly and nice. We spend a pleasant and amazing journey there.
