Accommodation

1. Bangkok

Sukhumvit Area: Along an 18-kilometer-long street, you’ll find everything from hotels, restaurants, and shopping malls to bars, clubs, and other lifestyle amenities. It is ideal for those who enjoy shopping, nightlife, and fine dining. The street has BTS (Skytrain) stations, making transportation relatively convenient, but it is far from most tourist attractions.

Riverside (Asiatique) Area: Located along the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, this area is lined with magnificent temples, palaces, and landmark buildings. It is peaceful and charming in the morning, and beautifully illuminated at night. The area is home to many five-star hotels, offering stunning views of both sides of the river, a romantic atmosphere, and a cooler temperature. It is ideal for those who prefer resort-style hotels and want to avoid the hustle and bustle of downtown Bangkok. However, there are fewer budget hotels here, and it is farther from the city center.

Silom Area: Known for its excellent restaurants, hotels, Patpong Night Market, and the red-light district, this area is perfect for those who enjoy nightlife. It has convenient transportation but can get easily congested.

Siam Area: This is Bangkok’s central shopping district, home to several popular shopping destinations, as well as the famous Erawan Shrine and family-friendly attractions like Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World. The main BTS station is located here, making transportation convenient. With many shopping and dining options, as well as family attractions, it is ideal for shoppers and family tourists.

Chinatown (Yaowarat) Area: The bustling streets are lined with food stalls, restaurants, grocery stores, and gold shops. After sunset, the entire area transforms into a lively Chinese night market, where people gather to enjoy street food. There are plenty of affordable street food options and budget shopping, offering a unique Chinese cultural experience in Thailand.

Old City (Rattanakosin) Area: This area is closest to the Grand Palace, Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), and Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). It is also home to the famous backpacker haven, Khao San Road, the “Old Bangkok Culinary Street”, and Wat Saket (Golden Mount). It’s a great spot for photography and offers an authentic Bangkok experience. However, transportation to other parts of Bangkok is not very convenient.

2. Pattaya

Pattaya Naklua Beach: Located in the northern part of Pattaya, this area is home to some of Thailand’s most renowned five-star hotels. Most of the beaches here are privately owned by hotels and condominiums, accessible only to their guests, ensuring a high level of privacy and offering stunning views. The area is free from noisy nightlife, combining luxury, comfort, style, and individuality, making it ideal for travelers seeking an upscale vacation experience.

Pattaya Beach Area: This is the current commercial center of Pattaya and is often considered its “downtown”. It is the liveliest and noisiest part of the city, home to the original Pattaya nightlife culture. By day, it’s a pleasant seaside town, but by night, it transforms into a bustling, neon-lit city that never sleeps.

Jomtien Beach Area: Jomtien Beach, stretching 8 kilometers, is narrower and more suited for those who prefer peace and quiet. With golden sunshine, soft sands, and clear waters, it’s the perfect place to quietly enjoy a beautiful sunset. Thanks to its prime location, Jomtien Beach also offers a wide variety of water sports and activities.

3. Chiang Mai

Old City Area: The Old City of Chiang Mai is full of great guesthouses and hotels, with plenty of dining options available. It’s a convenient area for exploring Chiang Mai’s historical sites and traditional charm.

Nimmanhaemin Road Area: It is one of Chiang Mai’s most fashionable and vibrant districts, located farther from the Old City. This area features numerous star-rated hotels and boutique accommodations. Nimmanhaemin Road is filled with stylish cafes, art galleries, boutique shops, and restaurants. You can stroll along the road, admire artworks, savor delicious food, and purchase exquisite handicrafts. It’s also a hub for young people and artists, where you can experience a rich atmosphere of creativity and the fusion of modern culture.

Mae Rim Mountain Area: Located north of Chiang Mai, this area is surrounded by mountains and features many upscale star-rated hotels. Accommodations here showcase Chiang Mai’s mountain and forest character, but they tend to be more expensive, and transportation is less convenient.

Mae Ping River Area: Located east of Chiang Mai, the river has several sightseeing boats, and the riverside is lined with scenic restaurants. This area offers a range of boutique hotels, from three to five stars, as well as luxury hotels, making it an attractive spot for travelers who enjoy scenic views and refined accommodations.

4. Phuket

Phuket Town: It is the cultural center of Phuket, known for its historical buildings and local markets. Staying here allows you to experience the daily life and cultural charm of Phuket.

Patong Beach Area: It is one of the busiest areas in Phuket, offering vibrant nightlife and plenty of shopping centers. There is a wide range of accommodation options, from budget hotels to luxurious resorts.

Kathu/Kamala Area: These areas are relatively quiet, making them ideal for travelers seeking a peaceful vacation atmosphere. They also offer luxurious accommodation options, some with private pools.

Rawai Area: It is a quieter area with high-end villas and resorts, making it perfect for families or groups seeking more private and spacious accommodations.

Kata Beach Area: Many hotels are just steps away from Kata Beach, making it convenient for visitors to enjoy beach activities. Many hotels also offer amenities such as swimming pools, restaurants, fitness centers, and kids’ clubs. Kata Beach is known for its beautiful sand and clear water, providing a serene environment for a relaxing vacation.

5. Krabi

Ao Nang Beach Area: It is the liveliest area in Krabi, featuring a long street filled with bars and restaurants, where you can dine, drink, shop, and party all in one place! It’s also the best starting point for various day trips and excursions.

Railay Beach Area: It is one of the most pristine beaches in Krabi, known for its upscale and laid-back resorts. With fewer tourists, it offers a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. You can also enjoy activities like rock climbing and various water sports. However, transportation to and from Krabi Town relies on long-tailed boats, making it less convenient.

Krabi Town: If you want to experience a more authentic side of local Thai life, Krabi Town, which is less frequented by tourists, is a good choice. You can explore the Maharaj Market, a local food market, and visit the largest night market in the area, Krabi Town Night Market, offering affordable prices and authentic Thai cuisine.

Sep 2025 • Family

This is the second time we plan a trip with Best Asia Tours and we love their service and attention to detail as well as their willingness to make your trip memorable and anything you want possible. Their planning is impecable and very efficient and if anything is not as you expected they will work to make sure it is. we did a 21 day itinerary for 7 including 2 grandmas back on 2018 and we just went back a couple of weeks ago with our daughter for 12 days and had an awesome time. We are already planning the next one. Zoe and Eric who had help us with the travel planning were both amazing their speed to comeback with the itineraries and changes is impressive and not matter how many times you ask them to look at changes or different hotels etc they are always willing to help with the most wonderful attitude . All the guides we had on the different cities and regions have be incredible . I can not recommend them enough. I have traveled al over the world and they are definitively on the top service of the agencies I had used.

Best Asia Tours did a really good job planning our itinerary in Japan. Some times we had issues coming up I think mostly related to cultural differences, but our agent was amazing and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were comfortable and the trip was perfect. The hotels are centrally located, very easy to access to the city center. The guide and driver are friendly and nice. We spend a pleasant and amazing journey there.

The trip was great and our agent performed great. We were pleasantly surprised with how responsive they were and with the trip that they planned. Very professional. A previous agent told us we couldn’t pull off a trip with so many stops but it was not a problem and the pace of the trip was good for us. We don’t like sitting still in one spot for too long. The guides in each city did well and a couple were excellent.
