Bangkok

Bangkok, the capital of Thailand and the reputed “City of Angels”, is a dream destination for every traveler. Whether you are a culture enthusiast, a food lover, or an adventurer seeker, Bangkok has something to satisfy your needs.

  1. Weather
Bangkok has a tropical monsoon climate, with hot weather year-round. The hot season lasts from February to May and is characterized by high temperatures and humidity. The rainy season runs from June to October, with significant rainfall and high humidity, with June being the hottest month. The cool season from November to January features lower temperatures and reduced rainfall, making it the best time for tourism.

  2. Popular Attractions
Grand Palace: Located in the heart of Bangkok, adjacent to the Chao Phraya River, the Grand Palace is a symbol of the Thai monarchy, showcasing the essence of Thai architecture, painting, sculpture, and decorative arts. Established in 1782, the palace has undergone continuous renovations and expansions by successive kings, resulting in a grand complex. Key buildings include Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha), Dusit Maha Prasat, and Amarinda Hall, all exemplifying distinctive Siamese architectural styles.

Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha): Situated within the Grand Palace, this temple is one of Thailand’s most significant Buddhist sites. It houses the Emerald Buddha, a statue carved from a single block of jade, measuring 66 cm in height and 48 cm in width. The Emerald Buddha is dressed in seasonal gold garments, changed three times a year by the King himself.

Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn): Located on Thonburi Street on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun is dedicated to Taskin, the 41st monarch of Thailand. The temple is renowned for its spectacular 79-meter-tall central prang (spire), often referred to as the “Eiffel Tower of Thailand”. The central tower and surrounding smaller towers are adorned with intricate carvings and colorful mosaics.

Chao Phraya River: Flowing through the heart of Bangkok, the Chao Phraya is the longest and largest river in Thailand, often called the “Mother River”. You can take a riverboat tour to explore Bangkok from the water, enjoying beautiful sights such as ancient temples, palaces, and modern skyscrapers. A boat ride along the river offers a unique glimpse into Bangkok’s water culture and lifestyle, creating an unforgettable experience.

Erawan Shrine (Four-Faced Buddha): This is one of Thailand’s most popular religious sites, attracting many visitors. The Four-Faced Buddha has four faces, each representing different aspects: career, love, health, and wealth. The shrine embodies the four divine qualities of compassion, mercy, joy, and equanimity, ensuring fair treatment and care for all beings in the east, south, west, and north.

  1. Shopping
CentralWorld: Located in the Siam area, it is one of the largest shopping centers in Bangkok. You can easily reach it via the BTS Skytrain to Siam Station, with an elevated walkway leading directly there. CentralWorld boasts over 500 stores and more than 200 restaurants, making it an excellent choice for shopping and entertainment. Additionally, it features a vast event space that frequently hosts exhibitions, concerts, and other activities, including grand celebrations for Thailand’s Songkran Festival.

Siam Paragon: Located at Siam Square, it is one of the most luxurious shopping centers in Bangkok. Easily accessible via the BTS Skytrain to Siam Station, this seven-story mall features a wide array of international brands from Gucci to Louis Vuitton. It also boasts an ultra-luxurious cinema and Thailand’s largest aquarium. After shopping, you can recharge at the food court with a variety of delicious options.

MBK Center: It is a massive shopping complex with over 2,000 stores, offering everything from traditional Thai products to various Western brands. You can take the BTS to the National Stadium Station and cross the pedestrian bridge to reach it. MBK Center has a diverse selection of goods, including clothing, shoes, watches, jewelry, and electronics, making it a shopper’s paradise.

  1. Transportation Guide
In the bustling city of Bangkok, the rail transit system is the most efficient way to get around. Bangkok’s rail network consists of four main types: BTS Skytrain, MRT Subway, Airport Rail Link (ARL), and the State Railway of Thailand (SRT). Each line is operated by different companies, and their ticketing systems are separate, meaning transfers between them within the stations are not possible.

The BTS Skytrain covers many shopping areas and attractions, making it the preferred choice for travel. It includes the Sukhumvit Line (light green) and the Silom Line (dark green), which intersect at Siam Station for quick transfers. The MRT Subway, while covering fewer areas than the BTS, remains an ideal option for swift travel throughout the city.

This is the second time we plan a trip with Best Asia Tours and we love their service and attention to detail as well as their willingness to make your trip memorable and anything you want possible. Their planning is impecable and very efficient and if anything is not as you expected they will work to make sure it is. we did a 21 day itinerary for 7 including 2 grandmas back on 2018 and we just went back a couple of weeks ago with our daughter for 12 days and had an awesome time. We are already planning the next one. Zoe and Eric who had help us with the travel planning were both amazing their speed to comeback with the itineraries and changes is impressive and not matter how many times you ask them to look at changes or different hotels etc they are always willing to help with the most wonderful attitude . Best Asia Tours did a really good job planning our itinerary in Japan. Some times we had issues coming up I think mostly related to cultural differences, but our agent was amazing and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were comfortable and the trip was perfect. The hotels are centrally located, very easy to access to the city center. The guide and driver are friendly and nice. We spend a pleasant and amazing journey there.

The trip was great and our agent performed great. We were pleasantly surprised with how responsive they were and with the trip that they planned. Very professional. A previous agent told us we couldn’t pull off a trip with so many stops but it was not a problem and the pace of the trip was good for us. We don’t like sitting still in one spot for too long. The guides in each city did well and a couple were excellent.
