Dalat

Dalat is located in southern Vietnam and is a charming small town with a European flair, often referred to as “Vietnam’s Little Switzerland”. It attracts many visitors who come to explore its unique European atmosphere and beautiful natural landscapes.

1. Weather
Dalat has a cool climate with a moderate average temperature all year round, making it an ideal summer retreat. It enjoys a spring-like atmosphere, fresh air, and beautiful scenery, earning it the title of Vietnam’s garden.

2. Popular Attractions
Xuan Huong Lake: It is a beautiful crescent-shaped artificial lake excavated during the French colonial period, located in the center of Dalat. There are two stories about its name: one suggests it comes from the fragrant blossoms that bloom in spring, while the other honors the 19th-century Vietnamese poetess Ho Xuan Huong. In the morning, you can stroll along the lakeside to watch the sun rise through the mist, take a small boat or jet ski to explore the waters, or cycle around the lake, breathing in the fresh, dew-kissed air, leaving you feeling rejuvenated.

Dalat Old Railway Station: The Dalat Old Railway Station is the oldest train station in Vietnam, with a history spanning over a century. Often regarded as the most beautiful station in the country, its main structure features a charming yellow facade, complemented by orange-red tiles and colorful stained glass windows. In front of the station, a small garden adds to its fairytale ambiance. Today, the station still operates a scenic route to the nearby town of Trai Mat, offering a delightful half-hour ride on an old train that might just bring a pleasant surprise to your journey.

Domaine de Marie Church: This church features exterior walls made of pink and red limestone, combined with a French-style pointed roof and round stained glass windows, creating a rich European architectural atmosphere. Under the blue sky and white clouds, with the pastel-colored church alongside vibrant flowers in the garden, you will feel like taking a stroll through a European estate, exuding a sweet and romantic ambiance.

Linh Phuoc Pagoda: Known for its unique architectural style, the pagoda resembles a massive, intricately carved artwork when viewed from a distance. Standing about seven stories high, it is adorned with countless vibrant dragon motifs that are elegant and stunning. The dragon columns at the entrance, sculptures on the temple walls, decorations on the windows, and the dragons above the doorway are all crafted from colorful ceramics and stained glass pieces, creating a breathtaking sight.

Datanla Waterfall: You can enter from the mountaintop and follow a rugged downhill path to reach the waterfall halfway down the slope. The clear white water cascades powerfully, and you can feel the mist in the air as you approach. A cable car ride down offers stunning views of the rainforest. Besides the breathtaking waterfall, visitors can enjoy various adventure activities, such as rappelling and roller coasters, weaving through the forest and adding an exhilarating thrill to your experience!

3. Shopping
The liveliest place in Dalat is undoubtedly the Dalat Market. Here, you can find a variety of local specialties, fruits, handicrafts, and souvenirs, offering a true taste of Vietnamese flavors and cultural atmosphere. At night, the outdoor market transforms into a vibrant night market, bustling with energy and filled with interesting and fun items that will surely catch your eye.

4. Food
Dalat, renowned for its flowers and fruits, is a paradise for fruit lovers, boasting an abundance of deliciously sweet options. Locals turn their surplus fruits into sweet preserves, which you can find everywhere—from bustling streets to shops. If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to try candied varieties like hibiscus, mulberries, peaches, and sweet potatoes. These preserves are not only great as snacks but can also be brewed in tea or spread on bread for a delightful treat.

This is the second time we plan a trip with Best Asia Tours and we love their service and attention to detail as well as their willingness to make your trip memorable and anything you want possible. Their planning is impecable and very efficient and if anything is not as you expected they will work to make sure it is. we did a 21 day itinerary for 7 including 2 grandmas back on 2018 and we just went back a couple of weeks ago with our daughter for 12 days and had an awesome time. We are already planning the next one. Zoe and Eric who had help us with the travel planning were both amazing their speed to comeback with the itineraries and changes is impressive and not matter how many times you ask them to look at changes or different hotels etc they are always willing to help with the most wonderful attitude . All the guides we had on the different cities and regions have be incredible . I can not recommend them enough. I have traveled al over the world and they are definitively on the top service of the agencies I had used.

Best Asia Tours did a really good job planning our itinerary in Japan. Some times we had issues coming up I think mostly related to cultural differences, but our agent was amazing and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were comfortable and the trip was perfect. The hotels are centrally located, very easy to access to the city center. The guide and driver are friendly and nice. We spend a pleasant and amazing journey there.

The trip was great and our agent performed great. We were pleasantly surprised with how responsive they were and with the trip that they planned. Very professional. A previous agent told us we couldn’t pull off a trip with so many stops but it was not a problem and the pace of the trip was good for us. We don’t like sitting still in one spot for too long. The guides in each city did well and a couple were excellent.
