Morning: Tianyu Mountain Scenic Area

Start your journey at Tianyu Mountain Scenic Area, one of the best vantage points overlooking Qiandao Lake.

With an elevation of 335 meters, Tianyu Mountain lies north of the Northeast Lake District and Qiandao Lake Bridge, and south of the town center. Several viewing platforms on the summit offer breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and surrounding islands—especially beautiful during sunset.

A highlight of the visit is the scenic escalator system. The escalator stretches about 350 meters in total with a vertical rise of around 120 meters, allowing visitors to reach the summit in only about 12 minutes. The first section alone measures 125 meters, once setting the record for the longest single escalator in China. Within five minutes you can reach the first transfer platform—before you even begin to feel tired.

As the escalator ascends, visitors are surrounded by lush nature and fresh mountain air. During the second section, the landscape of Qiandao Lake gradually unfolds behind you. It is the perfect moment to take photos or videos with a dramatic aerial-style perspective.

Afternoon: Yao Village, Zuokou Township

Travel to Yao Village to experience the lively atmosphere of traditional Lantern Festival celebrations.

Yao Village is one of the core villages of Zuokou Township. Its famous Bamboo Dragon Dance has been passed down for centuries. According to local records, villagers have celebrated the Lantern Festival with dragon dances for more than 700 years. As night falls, the entire village comes alive with lanterns, drums, and dancing dragons, creating a festive scene that reflects the deep-rooted folk traditions and strong sense of community in the region.

Evening: Jiangbin Park Light Show

End the day at Jiangbin Park to enjoy the lakeside light and shadow show themed around dragons.

Located on the western side of Qiandaohu Town, the park stretches along the water’s edge. From above, the park resembles a giant fish, with its “tail” extending toward Renmin Road and the tall memorial monument forming the “eye”. The memorial monument rises high into the sky, appearing majestic and imposing from every angle.

At sunset, the sky glows with brilliant colors and the lake reflects golden light. The open water sparkles as if filled with liquid gold, creating a magical evening atmosphere.

Continue to Lujiazhuang Village to experience a traditional Lantern Festival street parade and tastes local specialties.

The village hosts a lively Lantern Festival temple fair and cultural street procession. The Lujiazhuang Colorful Dragon Dance, a tradition with more than 700 years of history, takes center stage. Visitors can watch folk performances, browse festive markets, and sample a variety of local snacks while enjoying the vibrant village celebration.

Evening: Alpha City

Head to Alpha City for modern Lantern Festival entertainment.

Here you can join a festive bonfire party, explore themed games, and participate in interactive carnival activities. It is also a great place to taste local specialties such as Chun’an rice cakes, Qiandao Lake fish balls, and steamed white flower fish, experiencing the culinary flavors of the region.

Morning: “The Most Beautiful Countryside Primary School”

Visit Fuwen Primary School, often called one of the most beautiful countryside schools in China.

Hidden among the green mountains of Fuwen Village, this colorful campus became widely known after appearing in the film “My People, My Homeland”.

The school breaks away from traditional architectural styles. Its campus is composed of brightly colored geometric buildings arranged like a miniature village. Inspired by modern artistic design and Jiangnan garden aesthetics, the space creates a playful environment where children’s imagination can flourish.

Walking through the campus, visitors will see candy-colored glass houses and vibrant rainbow stairways. The setting feels almost like stepping into a whimsical animated world reminiscent of the films of Hayao Miyazaki.

Afternoon: Departure
