Bohol Island

Bohol Island, the tenth-largest island in the Philippines, is located in the central part of the country. Covering an area of approximately 4,200 square kilometers, it is part of the Visayas archipelago and lies close to Cebu Island. Bohol is one of the Philippines’ most popular holiday destinations.

As the first light of dawn breaks, Bohol Island slowly awakens between the turquoise sea and sky, and a romantic overture begins to unfold. Departing by boat from Cebu, it takes just two hours to arrive in the warm embrace of Bohol.

Bohol Island is a coral island, where fragments of coral have been shaped by the sea into stunning beaches of pure white sand. Even under the blazing sun, the sand remains cool beneath your feet, offering remarkable comfort. The sea itself reveals beautiful layers of color—soft green in the shallows, deepening into rich blue farther out.

In the hugely popular fantasy adventure film “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”, the protagonist Harry Potter is seen flying over a dense stretch of brown hills on his broomstick. This scene is not a special effect, but a real natural wonder found on Bohol Island—the Chocolate Hills.

Located in the central part of Bohol Island, the Chocolate Hills consist of 1,268 nearly identical cone-shaped hills, each rising between 40 and 120 meters. Viewed from afar, they resemble exquisitely crafted pieces of chocolate, creating a truly stunning landscape. The plains at the base of the hills are lush with trees, while the hills themselves are covered only in grass. During the rainy season, the hills turn a vibrant green, resembling matcha-flavored chocolate; in the dry season, the grass fades to golden brown, evoking the look of rich truffle chocolate.

From the viewing deck atop Chocolate Hills, you can take in the breathtaking sight of thousands of rolling hills stretching endlessly before you.

Bohol’s airport and ferry terminals are mostly located on Panglao Island in the southwest, so most visitors choose this area as their base when exploring Bohol. Panglao is also home to the island’s famous Alona Beach. Although this white-sand beach is less than 500 meters long, it is the liveliest and most beautiful spot on the island.

The beach is lined with restaurants, dive shops, and other venues. You can relax and quietly enjoy the sea views, or opt for water activities such as parasailing and jet skiing. Of course, the most exciting experience—heading out on a boat trip—should not be missed.

Hop aboard a traditional Philippine outrigger boat and set off into the open sea.

Along the way, you may have the chance to see whales gliding past at close range. If you set out early in the morning, you might also encounter pods of dolphins feeding together at dawn. Beneath the blue sky and over the turquoise sea, the scene is undeniably romantic. In addition, you can stop at designated snorkeling spots to enjoy snorkeling and step into the underwater world of Bohol, swimming alongside vibrant coral reefs and schools of fish.

Bohol is also home to the Philippine national treasure, the tarsier. Visitors can explore this unique creature up close at the island’s Tarsier Conservation Area.

With its unique natural wonders and gentle island charm, Bohol quietly draws travelers from around the world. There is no urban bustle here—only crystal-clear waters, striking hills, and wildlife living in harmony with nature. It feels as though time slows down, allowing every visitor to fully immerse themselves in this pure and tranquil haven.

We traveled to China during 05th May to 17th May, 2026. Here goes our comment.

Guilin & Yangshuo:

Mr. Tom was an excellent guide in every aspect. He made every experience a great adventure and beyond. With his energy and knowledge, he adjusted the schedule with extra activities such as visiting the pandas, which made it extra special. He is good at explaining everything in a clear and succinct way, since much is guiding us, we loved our time in China and couldn’t have done it without Tom. He is also frequently offering helpful knowledge we very much appreciated. He also took great pictures of us. Mr. Kong, the driver is very courteous & flexible.

Zhangjiajie, Furong & Fenghuang town:

Allen is a capable and smart guide who has an optimistic and patient personality. We feel fortunate to have her. She is very good at arranging the schedule and navigating the towns’ sights in an efficient manner. We appreciate her help to negotiate with the photographer and provide us good seats and advice. The driver Mr. Lee is a safe & excellent driver who is courteous to us, other drivers and pedestrians. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Zhengzhou area. The hotel was excellent!

Beijing:

Ray Liu is a very knowledgeable and smart guide with excellent English. We learned a lot from him about Chinese history, culture, and current life. He is on time and capable. He shared with us a lot of interesting facts and information, and it was easy to talk to him because he is friendly, talkative and has fluent English. Ray knows his way around & got us everywhere, and it was nice there was a charge port in the back. He can be more courteous to bikers & pedestrians, but we got everywhere safely.

Classic Japan Tour, Tokyo, Mt.Fuji, Osaka, Kyoto

Aug 2025

Best Asia Tours did a really good job planning our itinerary in Japan. Some times we had issues coming up I think mostly related to cultural differences, but our agent was amazing and went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure we were comfortable and the trip was perfect. The hotels are centrally located, very easy to access to the city center. The guide and driver are friendly and nice. We spend a pleasant and amazing journey there.
