If snorkeling no longer satisfies your sense of adventure, it may be time to try the thrill of cliff diving. In the Philippines, one island stands out as a perfect destination for this exhilarating experience—Siquijor Island. The island is home to numerous diving spots of all sizes, each with its own unique character, allowing you to enjoy jump after jump in one unforgettable trip.
1.CambugahayFalls – Vine Swing Cliff Jumping
Hidden deep within the lush forests of Siquijor Island, a series of cascading waterfalls flow into natural pools. Enriched with minerals, the water shifts in color depending on the angle and sunlight, appearing milky white or turquoise blue—hence the local name “Milk Lake”.
This is one of Siquijor’s most famous cliff-jumping spots, known for its natural vine swings and waterfall jump platforms, offering both excitement and a uniquely tropical setting.
Vine jumping involves grabbing naturally grown vines along the shore and using momentum to swing out over the water before leaping into the lake. For those with more experience, you can even add flips or other tricks to challenge yourself—so stylish that onlookers often break into applause. The vine jumps are set at three heights—2 meters, 5 meters, and 8 meters—so as long as you have the courage, you can fully indulge your inner “Tarzan”. Swinging in a graceful arc over emerald-green water, splashing into the lake below, with sunlight sparkling through the droplets, it is a moment well worth capturing and remembering.
If you head higher up, you can also try waterfall jumping. Climb to the source of the falls and leap directly down into the pool below, combining an adrenaline rush with a refreshing natural “waterfall massage”.
2.Jelly Sea Platform Cliff Jumping
The vertical rock walls along the coast provide an ideal setting for cliff diving. Well-maintained steps lead you up to the jump platforms, with heights ranging from 3 to 10 meters—making it a brave challenge suitable for both children and adults alike.
In the distance, the sea stretches out in crystal-clear gradients of blue; beside you, resilient green trees cling to the cliffs; beneath your feet, weathered stone paths bear the marks of time. With the vast sky above and the open ocean ahead, you feel your own smallness—and an irresistible urge to leap, embracing the world with courage and freedom.
Cliff diving requires proper attention to safety. If needed, you can wear a life jacket or hire a local guide to stay in the water and provide assistance.
Beyond cliff diving, Siquijor Island offers many other experiences, such as a motorcycle tour around the island—enjoy a fish spa beneath a century-old balete tree, visit historic churches, and wait for a stunning sunset on a beautiful beach. And these are just the beginning; many more surprises await you to explore.
