While walking around Marina Bay, visitors will undoubtedly come across a uniquely designed bridge, the world’s first double-helix pedestrian bridge. This bridge connects Bay South and Bay Central, forming a 3.5-kilometer walking loop around Marina Bay. Constructed with stainless steel tubes, the two intertwined helix curves create a core structure extending 280 meters. Whether viewed from the bridge deck or from its five observation platforms, the Double Helix Bridge enhances the city’s skyline. The inner helix supports a canopy of perforated glass and stainless-steel mesh for sunshade. The bridge also features circular lookout points where pedestrians can rest or enjoy city views, making it an ideal spot for watching water sports and fireworks displays.

In Singapore’s Marina Bay area stands a landmark of modern architecture –Marina Bay Sands. Designed by architect Moshe Safdie, the structure consists of three towers inspired by the shape of two playing cards leaned against the other. Each tower features two blocks narrowing as they rise, with one side slanted at a 26-degree angle, presenting significant construction challenges.

At the top of the hotel is the Sands SkyPark, which connects the three towers. It features a 200-meter infinity pool, a 10,000-square-meter garden, public observation decks, and various dining options, creating a verdant oasis in the city. The 66.5-meter-long observation deck is the longest available cantilevered structure in the world, offering panoramic views of Marina Bay Gardens, the stunning Supertree Grove, the Marina Bay Sands Arts Centre, Merlion Park, and other iconic landmarks.
