Today, you will depart from your hotel and embark on a 4-hour drive to Sigiriya. The Sigiriya Rock Fortress, perched atop a towering rust-red granite monolith in the city of Sigiriya, is renowned as the Eighth Wonder of the World. Standing approximately 200 meters tall, this aerial palace was originally sculpted into the shape of a lion, though only the lion’s body remains today due to weathering. Constructed over 18 years by King Kasyapa of the Moriya Dynasty as a defensive stronghold against political rivals, the fortress features elevated gardens, reservoirs, and other sophisticated structures. In 1982, it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stands as the pinnacle of Sri Lanka’s “Cultural Triangle.”
【Travel Tips】
The Sigiriya Rock hike takes approximately 2–3 hours and reaches an elevation of 377 meters. From the summit, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Sri Lanka’s pristine natural landscapes.
If you have limited stamina or feel unwell, you may arrange with your driver to return to the hotel early. The hotel’s surroundings also offer opportunities to experience Sri Lanka’s ecological environment.
Later, drive to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural and religious heartland, which is famed as a Buddhist sacred city and served as the final capital of the Sinhalese Kingdom. Upon arrival, check into your hotel in Kandy.
Day 3 Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
This morning, you will explore the highlights of Kangdy. Kandy’s iconic landmark is the Temple of the Tooth Relic, originally constructed in the 15th century to enshrine a sacred tooth relic of Buddha Sakyamuni. As a pilgrimage site for Buddhists worldwide, the temple features a granite foundation adorned with intricate limestone carvings and woodcraft. Surviving relics such as defensive walls and an artificial lake underscore its strategic significance. In 1988, Kandy’s Sacred City was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its urban layout preserving elongated administrative zones and a quadrilateral lake structure emblematic of Sinhalese dynastic architecture.
Later, embark on a 3-hour drive uphill to Sri Lanka’s renowned Ceylon tea plantation, where lush landscapes unfold along the journey.
The Pink Post Office in Nuwara Eliya, built in the 19th century during British colonial rule, stands as a striking Victorian-era edifice with its distinctive rose-tinted façade. As one of Sri Lanka’s oldest functioning post offices, it serves both practical postal needs and as a historical landmark. Visitors can mail postcards, browse vintage architectural details, and purchase souvenirs at its shop, offering a nostalgic glimpse into the island’s colonial past.
【Travel Tips】
* Temple Etiquette:
Remove shoes before entering the Temple of the Tooth Relic. Wear socks or carry a pair to avoid burning your feet on hot floors. Shoe storage is available for approximately 100 LKR. Please prepare it ahead of time.

Day 4 Nuwara Eliya – Yala
Today, you will depart from Nuwara Eliya and travel to the amazing Yala National Park. Located along Sri Lanka’s southeastern coast approximately 300 kilometers from the capital Colombo, the park spans 979 square kilometers as the country’s second-largest national nature reserve. Stretching across the Hambantota and Tissamaharama regions, the park features a remarkable ecological mosaic of beaches, rivers, lakes, wetlands, and scrublands.
You will embark on a thrilling jeep safari (4–6 passengers per vehicle) through dense jungles to spot diverse wildlife and bird species, with the rare chance of encountering the elusive Sri Lankan leopard.
【Travel Tips】
*Park Closure Notice: Due to Sri Lanka’s dry season from September 1 to October 30, Yala National Park may temporarily close. In such cases, we will arrange an alternative visit to Udawalawe National Park, with potential accommodation at the nearby 5-star Grand Udawalawe Safari Resort. We apologize for any inconvenience.
*Dust Protection: Jeep safaris can be dusty; we recommend bringing face masks for comfort.
Day 5 Yala – Galle – Ahungalla
This morning, you will check out from your hotel and continue on your exploration to Galle. The Galle Fort remains a vibrant, inhabited ancient city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Constructed by Dutch colonists, its formidable stone ramparts stand as an iconic landmark, bearing witness to Galle’s colonial transformations while famously shielding the entire town during the 2004 South Asian tsunami. Within the fort’s walls lie approximately 400 residences, churches, temples, and historic commercial buildings. Visitors often stroll atop the ramparts to enjoy panoramic views of the old town juxtaposed against sweeping ocean vistas—a truly serene experience. Located west of Galle’s main gate, Galle Clock Tower is a defining feature of the old city. Built in 1883, this four-story structure was funded through public donations to honor Dr. Daniel Antonis, a renowned surgeon and member of Sri Lanka’s Legislative Council. His lifesaving medical work earned him enduring gratitude from the community.
Concentrated along the southwestern coast between Galle and Mirissa, particularly in the town of Koggala, Sri Lanka’s stilt fishermen are a iconic sight. Legend claims that poverty-stricken fishermen, unable to afford boats, began perching on wooden stakes submerged in shallow waters to catch abundant local sardines. Using simple rods—often baitless—they skillfully reel in fish within minutes, earning global fame for what’s dubbed “the world’s most audacious fishing method.”
Today’s tour concludes at Galle Old Town. Renowned for its millennia-spanning history, captivating architecture, and breathtaking beaches, Galle Old Town holds UNESCO World Heritage status for its unique blend of Dutch, Portuguese, and Moorish influences. This architectural tapestry continues to enchant travelers worldwide.
