Vietnam has a visa exemption policy for certain countries. You should check with the Vietnam embassy or consulate before your departure to confirm whether your country is covered by the visa exemption policy.
Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island has a visa exemption policy for all foreign nationals. If your travel is limited to Phu Quoc Island, you do not need a visa, provided your stay does not exceed 30 days.
For online visa applications, visit the official website of the Vietnam embassy or consulate to learn about the process. Necessary documents for application include a valid passport, an application form, photos, and identification. You can choose from three types of visas: paper visa, e-visa, or visa on arrival.
1. Paper Visa
Required Documents:
– Scanned copy of the passport’s bio page
– Digital portrait photo
– Specified visa start date
– Prepaid courier fee for visa paper delivery
Upon arrival, you can enter Vietnam directly with the original visa and passport at any entry point.
2. E-Visa
Required Documents:
– Scanned copy of the passport’s bio page
– Digital portrait photo
– Specified entry port and visa validity date
Upon arrival, you must exchange the printed e-visa for a paper visa at the first point of entry. You can then use your original passport and paper visa to enter Vietnam through one of the 33 designated entry points.
3. Visa on Arrival
Required Documents:
– Scanned copy of the passport’s bio page
– Visa application approval letter specifying entry port and visa validity date
Upon arrival, present the printed approval letter, and two 2-inch white background color photos, and complete the required forms to obtain the visa on arrival. Pay the visa fee at the airport or land border entry point to enter Vietnam.
